The IAA was registered in June 1996. The aim of Association is to promote Baltic amber and protect against forgeries and also ensure high importance of amber in Poland and worldwide through spreading knowledge   about its qualities : the beauty, healing properties, scientific  values and relation with culture.

• Baltic Amber is a fossilized tree resin formed approximately 40-60 million years ago. Amber stores static electricity and was named elektron by the ancient Greeks. This is the root of our word, 'electricity'.
• Baltic amber appears in 256 identified shades.
• Amber was first worn as a talisman of good luck.
• Amber has been known and treasured by many ancient cultures for its protective, decorative & healing qualities since 13 ^th millennium BCE.
• Amber was an important commodity for ancient cultures. The Romans used amber in a number of different objects, including coinage.
• The Chinese belived that Amber held soul of Tigers.
• Amber allows the body to '' heal '' by absorbing and transmuting negative energy from (PC's, microwaves, mobile phones, TV's) into positive energy (ions).
• Amber from the Baltic region of Europe (called succinite) is considered the best quality because of its high succinic acid content 3-8%.
• Amber inclusions vary: small animals, lizards, insects, leaves, feathers, pyrite, drop of water, bubbles of air, grains of sand, pollen, are only some of them.
• It is possible to extract DNA from Amber . At least 214 plant species have  been identified by scientists so far.
